What's the difference between freebase and nicotine salt e-liquid?

Freebase and nicotine salt e-liquid are the two main formats of vape juice, and the difference comes down to nicotine chemistry, strength, and the hardware each is built for. Freebase e-liquid uses nicotine in its natural "freebase" state, which becomes harsh on the throat as strength climbs, so it is commonly stocked in lower strengths (0 mg, 3 mg, and 6 mg) and paired with direct-lung, sub-ohm devices that produce big vapor. It is the format most 60 mL, 100 mL, and 120 mL bottles use. Nicotine salt e-liquid, or "salt nic," adds a mild acid to freebase nicotine, which lowers the pH and keeps it smooth even at high strengths, so it is commonly stocked at 25 mg and 50 mg and paired with low-power pod and mouth-to-lung (MTL) devices that sip juice slowly, typically in 30 mL bottles. For a retailer, the practical takeaway is that the two formats serve two different customers: sub-ohm cloud vapers reach for freebase, while pod users and those wanting a cigarette-like draw reach for salt nic. Carrying both, in the right strengths and bottle sizes, is what lets one shelf cover the whole customer base.

What is vape juice (e-liquid) made of?

Most e-liquid is built from just four core ingredients: propylene glycol (PG), vegetable glycerin (VG), food-grade flavoring, and, unless it is a zero-nicotine formula, nicotine. PG is a thin, largely flavorless carrier that delivers a sharper throat hit and carries flavor crisply; VG is a thicker, slightly sweet liquid that produces the visible vapor clouds. The ratio between them defines how a juice behaves: higher-VG blends such as 70/30 VG/PG make more vapor and suit sub-ohm hardware, while balanced or higher-PG blends carry flavor and throat hit and suit pods and MTL devices. Nicotine, when present, comes in either freebase or salt form and in a range of strengths. Flavor concentrates, from fruit and dessert to menthol and tobacco, are what distinguish one juice from another. Exact ingredients, ratios, and any additional additives vary by brand and product, so retailers and customers should check each product page for the specific formulation rather than assume a standard recipe.

What nicotine strengths does e-liquid come in?

E-liquid is sold across a spectrum of nicotine strengths so it can match both the device and the customer's habit. Freebase bottles are commonly offered in 0 mg, 3 mg, and 6 mg, and occasionally 12 mg, which stay comfortable at the high vapor output of sub-ohm devices; higher freebase strengths get harsh, so they are rare. Nicotine salt bottles, because the salt form stays smooth, are commonly offered in higher strengths such as 25 mg and 50 mg for low-power pods that deliver nicotine efficiently in small puffs. Strength is usually written as milligrams per milliliter (mg) and sometimes as a percentage, so 50 mg is roughly 5%. Zero-nicotine 0 mg options exist across both formats for customers who vape purely for flavor. For a shop, stocking a full strength ladder, low freebase for sub-ohm users, high salt for pod users, and a 0 mg option, covers the widest range of buyers. The exact strengths in stock are listed on each product page.

What's the difference between PG and VG, and which ratio should a shop stock?

PG (propylene glycol) and VG (vegetable glycerin) are the two base liquids in nearly all e-liquid, and their ratio is one of the biggest factors in how a juice performs. PG is thin and carries flavor and throat hit sharply but produces little vapor; VG is thick and slightly sweet and produces the large vapor clouds that sub-ohm users want, though it mutes flavor a touch and can build up on small coils faster. Common ratios are around 70/30 VG/PG for sub-ohm freebase juice, and 50/50 for pods and MTL setups, where the thinner blend wicks properly through small, high-resistance coils. Max-VG and higher-PG options exist for specific preferences. For retailers, the practical rule is to match ratio to the device the customer uses: higher-VG freebase for box mods and sub-ohm tanks, and balanced 50/50 blends, often salt nic, for pods and pens. Exact ratios vary by product, so check each label.

What bottle sizes are available?

Texas Cloud Distro carries e-liquid in the industry's standard bottle sizes, and the size usually signals the format and the customer. Freebase vape juice is stocked in 60 mL, 100 mL, and 120 mL bottles; the larger sizes make sense because sub-ohm devices burn through juice quickly, so high-volume users want more per bottle and better value per milliliter. Nicotine salt juice is stocked in 30 mL bottles, because pod and MTL devices sip far less liquid, and the smaller size keeps a higher-strength product at an accessible shelf price. For a shop, the takeaway is to carry a mix: 60 mL for customers trying a new flavor, 100 mL and 120 mL as everyday value for loyal sub-ohm buyers, and 30 mL salt bottles for the pod crowd. That spread covers trial, everyday, and high-volume demand from one shelf.

Do you offer zero-nicotine (0 mg) e-liquid?

Yes. Zero-nicotine e-liquid, labeled 0 mg, is available and represents a real segment of demand: many customers vape purely for flavor, want to step their nicotine down over time, or prefer a nicotine-free option for cloud-chasing. It is made the same way as regular juice, with PG, VG, and flavoring, simply without the nicotine, so the flavor range and vapor performance are the same. Zero-nicotine options exist in both freebase-style bottles for sub-ohm devices and in balanced blends for pods. For retailers, stocking a few strong 0 mg flavors captures a customer segment that standard nicotine lines miss, and it aligns with the steady search interest in nicotine-free vape juice. Available flavors and formats are listed on each product page.

How should e-liquid be stored, and how long does it keep?

E-liquid keeps best stored upright, in a cool, dark place, away from direct sunlight, heat, and air exposure, because light and heat gradually break down flavor and nicotine, and oxygen slowly darkens the liquid, a natural process called steeping or oxidation that does not by itself mean the juice has gone off. Manufacturers print a best-by or manufacture date on the bottle or box; as a general industry reference, sealed e-liquid is often cited as keeping well for roughly one to two years, though this varies by brand, formulation, and storage conditions, so always follow the date and guidance on the specific product. For a retailer, the practical playbook is straightforward: store backstock away from windows and heat sources, keep bottles sealed until sold, and rotate inventory by date on a first-in, first-out (FIFO) basis so older stock sells first and your shelf always shows fresh product.
